Product Overview

Silicon Carbide (SiC) Furnace Support Rods are rigid ceramic components used to support kiln shelves, setters, trays, beams and workpieces in high-temperature furnaces and kilns. They are used in ceramic firing, sintering, heat treatment and other thermal-processing applications where dimensional stability, load-bearing performance and resistance to repeated heating are required.
We supply Reaction Bonded SiC (SiSiC/RBSiC), Recrystallized SiC (RSiC), and Nitride Bonded SiC (NSiC) grades for standard, replacement and drawing-based applications. Custom dimensions are available for wholesale buyers, furnace builders and OEM equipment manufacturers.

Key Product Features

High-Temperature Structural Stability: SiC provides rigid structural support at elevated temperatures. Actual performance depends on material grade, rod diameter, unsupported span, applied load and furnace conditions.
Thermal Shock Resistance: Relatively low thermal expansion and good thermal conductivity help reduce thermal stress during heating and cooling cycles. Actual performance depends on geometry, material grade and heating/cooling conditions.
Oxidation Resistance: In oxidizing environments, SiC can form a protective silica-containing surface layer. Performance varies with temperature, atmosphere, composition and surface condition.
Material Selection: SiSiC, RSiC and NSiC grades can be selected according to temperature, mechanical loading and furnace atmosphere.
Controlled Manufacturing: Production includes forming, drying, high-temperature sintering, cutting or machining and inspection. Approved drawings and specifications can be used for repeat production.

Manufacturing & Quality Assurance

Operating out of a modern 40,000 m² production facility, our manufacturing integration includes high-tonnage hydraulic presses, cold isostatic pressing (CIP), vacuum sintering furnaces, and precision CNC grinding equipment.
Quality Control Process:
Raw Material Inspection: High-purity alpha-SiC powders are verified for particle size distribution and chemical purity.
Forming & Sintering: Controlled forming followed by high-temperature reaction bonding or recrystallization firing.
Machining & Inspection: Precision cutting, grinding, straightness verification, and outer diameter tolerance checks.
Pre-Shipment Verification: Dimensional, visual, and load-deflection test reports (COA / Inspection Certificate) provided upon request. First-piece sample approval is available prior to mass production.

How to Select the Right Support Rod

Before ordering, provide:

  • Load: Shelf, setter and workpiece weight
  • Unsupported Span: Distance between support points
  • Temperature: Operating and peak temperature
  • Atmosphere: Air, nitrogen, argon, vacuum or other process gas
  • Installation: Horizontal, vertical or cantilever
  • Dimensions: Diameter, length and end configuration

These parameters help determine a suitable material grade and rod specification instead of selecting solely by furnace temperature.

Typical Applications

Ceramic & Porcelain Firing: Kiln shelf supports and setter posts for sanitaryware, tableware, and technical ceramics.
Lithium Battery Material Sintering: High-temperature support beams for saggar pushers and roller hearth kilns.
Heat Treatment Furnaces: Structural fixtures for steel annealing, hardening, and brazing lines.
Electronic Components: Substrate firing supports for MLCC and ferrite components.
Furnace Maintenance & Upgrades: OEM replacement rods for leading industrial kiln brands.

Wholesale & OEM Supply

For importers, distributors, furnace builders and industrial buyers, we support batch production, repeat specifications, replacement orders and drawing-based customization. Samples, drawings or measured dimensions can be used for specification review.
Export packaging can include protective cartons, pallets or reinforced wooden cases according to product dimensions and shipping requirements.

FAQ
